From their timeless gems “Rock Lobster,” “Planet Claire” and “Private Idaho” to the more recent classics of “Channel Z,” “Love Shack” and “Roam” the legendary band will play only Connecticut show this summer on Tuesday, June 5.

The 8 p.m. concert is part of the Pepsi Rock Series powered by Xfinity with support from Adam Broderick Salon & Spa.

Tickets are selling for $130 apiece and can be purchased at the box office, by calling 203-438-5795 or clicking here online at www.ridgefieldplayhouse.org.

The Ridgefield Playhouse is a non-profit performing arts center located at 80 East Ridge, parallel to Main Street in Ridgefield.

Formed on an October night in 1976 after drinks at an Athens, GA, Chinese restaurant, The B-52s played their first gig at a friend's house on Valentine's Day 1977.

Naming themselves after Southern slang for exaggerated bouffant, beehive hairdos, the newly-christened B-52s began weekend road trips to New York City -- playing at CBGB's and a handful of other venues.

Their self-titled debut album, produced by Chris Blackwell, sold more than 500,000 copies on the strength of their first singles -- the garage party classic "Rock Lobster" and "52 Girls."

The B-52s began to attract fans far beyond the punk clubs of the Lower East Side — galvanizing the pop world with their 'stream-of-consciousness' approach to songwriting and outrageous performances.

"We always appealed to people outside the mainstream," said Kate Pierson, "and I think more people feel they're outside the mainstream these days."

More than 40 years into their career with more than 20 million albums sold, The B-52s retain an ageless appeal.

An added B-52 bonus: Stop by Nature’s Temptations at 32 Prospect St in Ridgefield and enjoy a free smoothie with any purchase in June when you show your ticket.

Media sponsors for the June show are 98Q, Danbury’s Hit Music Station and The B 94.5.
