Fairfield Takes on Genetically Modified Food

What do you know about GMOs (genetically modified organisms)? Are they in your kitchen? In your child’s lunch?

If answering these questions about GMO’s—genetically modified organisms—is a challenge, you might want to head over to the Pequot Library Saturday, March 10, from 10 a.m. to noon. State Rep and Environment Committee member Tony Hwang will be there to discuss HB 5117.

HB 5117 is an act that would require food producers to label genetically engineered foods as such.

Holistic health counselor Tara Cook-Littmann will get you up to speed on GMO’s: what, where and how prevalent they are. And Analiese Pak, founder of The Fairfield Green Food Guide, will also be in attendance to share testimony she delivered to the committee, and share her thoughts on ways to support the bill.
