“These talented students were privileged to receive inspiring instruction from a true Master. Wynton Marsalis provided positive feedback as well as constructive criticism to help these student musicians strengthen their skills and grow and develop individually and as a group. This was surely a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, never to be forgotten,” said Enid Lieberman, education manager.

Marsalis provided personalized coaching. He joined in and played piano and trumpet to highlight specific suggestions. All the students benefited from the collective comments offered to all the groups, as they were able to sit in on all three coaching sessions. Woven throughout, Marsalis offered life lessons and personal stories to enhance the experience.

To round out the education program, the Stamford Symphony offered students tickets to the live Wynton Marsalis Quintet concert at the Palace Theatre at 8 p.m. Saturday, where they will be able to meet him backstage.
