Monday, Sept. 10
Zoning Board: 7 p.m. The city’s Zoning Board will hold a public hearing on a variety of issues, including the CVS project on Hope Street. The meeting will take place in the cafeteria of the Stamford Government Center, 888 Washington Blvd.
Tuesday, Sept. 11
Memory Disorder Talks: David Troxel, MPH, will speak about Alzheimer’s disease and dementia at Atria Stamford, 77 Third St. The Alzheimer’s talk will take place at 5:30 p.m. and include dinner; the dementia talk is at 8 a.m. and includes breakfast. RSVP to Jennifer Barrett: 203-327-4551.
Wednesday, Sept. 12
State-Building In The Digital Era: 5:30 p.m. The World Affairs Forum will host Ken Zita, president of Network Dynamics Associates, who will speak about bringing technology into countries. The event will take place at UConn Stamford, corner of Washington Boulevard and Broad Street. Admission is $20 for the general public and free for students and staff.
Stamford On The Gridiron and The Diamond, 1860-1975: 6 p.m. The Stamford Historical Society, 1508 High Ridge Road, will host an opening-night celebration for its newest exhibit, exploring the history and impact of sports in Stamford. The exhibit will be on display Sept. 12-July 3.
Batch 19 Pre-Prohibition Style Lager Launch Party: 6 p.m. Bar Q will host the launch party for Batch 19 Pre-Prohibition Style Lager at its Stamford location, 261 Main St. Admission is $20 per person or $35 per couple and includes two pints and food.
Thursday, Sept. 13
Board of Education: 6:30 p.m. The school board will hold two committee meetings, operations and fiscal, in the board’s conference room on the fifth floor of the Stamford Government Center, 888 Washington Blvd.
Board of Finance: 7 p.m. The city’s finance board will be meeting to discuss fiscal issues, including grants and appropriations. The meeting will take place in the board’s fourth-floor conference room in the Stamford Government Center, 888 Washington Blvd.
Friday, Sept. 14
Astronomy Night: Fall Constellations: 7 p.m. The Stamford Museum & Nature Center’s observatory will host a discussion about star formations visible in the night sky, then check them out through the telescope. Admission is $3 for adults and $2 for children. The nature center is located at 39 Scofieldtown Road.
