What's Happening In Stamford This Weekend

STAMFORD, Conn. — A “Bad Party,” a couple of concerts and a Gay & Lesbian Wedding Expo are just a few of the events going on in Stamford this weekend. To see what else is happening in the area visit our Events Section.  

Friday, Sept. 7

A “Bad Party:” 6 to 9 p.m. The Fernando Luis Alvarez Art Gallery will hold a gallery opening for John Barrios’ “Bad Party” exhibit. The gallery is located at 96 Bedford St.

Roxy’s Travelling Roadhouse Jam Benefit: 6:30 p.m. to 1 a.m. Blues musicians will perform to benefit Fred Clark, who was recently diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia. Fiddler’s Green, 280 Shippan Ave.

Saturday, Sept. 8

Spa for the Spirit: 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. People of all faiths are invited to a monthly event that gives people a chance to reflect on the gifts of summertime. The event is free. Church of Christ the Healer, 20 Brookdale Place.

Second Saturday Cinema: 2 p.m. The Ferguson Library will show “Think Like a Man,” for its monthly movie event. The PG-13 rated movie runs 122 minutes. Main Library, 1 Library Plaza.

Sunday, Sept. 9

Stamford Gay & Lesbian Wedding Expo: 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. More than 30 gay-friendly vendors will present gay and lesbian couples with wedding planning tips. Loading Dock at the Industrial Park, 375 Fairfield Ave.

Hold On To Summer With Jazz In The Garden: 3 p.m. The Galvanized Jazz Band will perform will at one more Sunday concert. Tickets are $15 for members and $20 for nonmembers. The concert will be held rain or shine. Bartlett Arboretum & Gardens, 151 Brookdale Place.
