Monday, Oct. 22
Linda McMahon Event: 1:30 to 3 p.m. New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie will be at the Stamford Marriott Hotel to rally support for Linda McMahon’s senatorial campaign. The hotel is located at 243 Tresser Blvd.
Common Core Standards Public Forum: 7 p.m. Representatives from Stamford Public Schools are looking for input on the state’s common core standards. The meeting will take place at the Academy of Information, Technology & Engineering, 411 High Ridge Road.
Tuesday, Oct 23
Market Leadership Summit: 6 p.m. The monthly meeting at the Stamford Innovation Center, Old Town Hall, 175 Atlantic St., will focus on branding. The meeting is $25 per person.
Board of Education: 7 p.m. The board will hold its monthly regular meeting to discuss and decide upon issues facing the schools. The meeting will take place in the fifth floor conference room of the Stamford Government Center, 888 Washington Blvd.
Wednesday, Oct. 24
Team In Training Happy Hour: 5 p.m. Learn about the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Team In Training program over appetizers and cocktails at Hudson Grille, 128 Bedford St.
Charter Revision Public Forum: 6:30 p.m. Members of the Charter Revision Committee and Board of Representatives will answer questions and explain the charter revision questions that will appear on the ballot Election Day. The forum will be at the Harry Bennett Branch of the Ferguson Library, 115 Vine Road.
Board of Education Candidate Forum: 7 p.m. The five candidates vying for three spots on the Board of Education will be at the Yerwood Center, 90 Fairfield Ave., to give residents a chance to hear what each stands for.
Thursday, Oct. 25
Career Fair: 4 to 8 p.m. The Ferguson Library will host recruiters and consultants looking for potential employees. Attendees should bring resumes with them to the fair.
“Rocky Horror Picture Show”: 9 p.m. In the spirit of Halloween watch the Cult Classic, “Rocky Horror Picture Show,” at the Avon Theatre, 272 Bedford St., and dress up and participate in the costume contest. Ticket prices are as follows: Carte Blanche: free, Members: $6, Students & Seniors: $8, Nonmembers: $11.
Friday, Oct. 26
After School Fun In Stamford: 4:15 p.m. Come dressed in costume for spooky stories and a Halloween craft for the monthly kids event at the Harry Bennett Branch of the Ferguson Library, 115 Vine Road. The event is recommended for kids in kindergarten through third grade.
