Monday, Oct. 8
Mixed Martial Arts Columbus Day Camp: 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. With no school Monday, Tiger Schulmann’s, 2770 Summer St., will offer a camp for kids to gain focus and confidence. The registration fee is $50 and kids from 4 and up are invited.
Nature Super Heroes: 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The Stamford Museum & Nature Center, 39 Scofieldtown Road, will teach kids about the heroes of the natural world learning what animals are the biggest, fastest and strongest. Kids are invited to dress like their favorite superhero. The event is free with gate admission.
Tuesday, Oct. 9
Medicare Counseling: 1 to 4 p.m. The Ferguson Library will have experts helping people learn about Medicare and Medicaid. The program is free, but registration is necessary. Call 203-351-8221.
A Night Of Shopping: 5 p.m. Agabhumi: The Best of Bali, 22 Magee Ave., will hold a shopping fundraiser, donating 20 percent of proceeds to the Stamford Hospital Breast Cancer Center.
Wednesday, Oct. 10
“Detropia”: 7:30 p.m. The Avon Theatre, 272 Bedford St., will show the narrative of Detroit over the last century with the documentary, “Detropia.” Ticket prices are as follows: Carte Blanche Members: Free, Members: $6, Students and Seniors: $8, Nonmembers: $11.
Thursday, Oct. 11
Cover Letter Writing Clinic: 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Learn how to improve your cover writing ability at the Ferguson Library. Register on-line at the library's website.
Middle School BBQ: 5:30 to 7 p.m. Kids in grades 6 to 8 will have a chance to take a break from studying and enjoy some food and music at the Middle School BBQ at the Stamford Jewish Community Center, 1035 Newfield Ave. The event is free for JCC members and $8 for guests.
Friday, Oct 12
Battle For A Cause: 5:30 p.m. Butterfield 8, 112 Bedford St., will offer half-priced drinks, including pink martini’s, and a raffle in support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. At 10 p.m. there will be a DJ spin battle.
Loving Llanview: 7 p.m. Get a chance to see the stars of “One Life To Live,” live in Stamford at the Palace Theater, 61 Atlantic St., in an unscripted show. After the show meet the cast at an autograph session. Tickets range from $28 to $118 for the show, and are $125 for the autograph session.
