This light-hearted comedy kicks off when the feisty females of Eden Falls, Ga., decide to shake up their lives. The action in this rollicking Southern comedy takes place in SPA-DEE-DAH!, the abandoned church-turned day spa where this group of friends gathers every Friday afternoon.

After the loss of a dear friend, the women realize time is precious and if they're going to change their lives and achieve their dreams they have to get on it now. The comic tension mounts when a sexy, ex-boyfriend shows up unexpectedly, a marriage proposal comes from an unlikely suitor and an archrival vows she'll stop at nothing to steal the spa away from her.

Directed by Norwalk resident Frank Gaffney, this cast of six women and two men will deliver laughs in the cold dark days of January. “It’s a funny, heartwarming play with lots of humor, wit, and a few zingers and is perfect to help beat back the post-holiday blues,” said Curtain Call executive director, Lou Ursone.

Featured in the cast are, from Norwalk: Carin Freidag and Ruth Lettera; from Westport, husband and wife Marc Hartog and Cindy Hartog; from Trumbull: Cathy Cordaro; from Milford: Andrea Garmun; from Wilton: Christina Richardson; and from Sandy Hook; Bob Hennessey.

"I got involved because Hope-Jones-Wooten comedies are guaranteed laughers,” said Gaffney. “The play is an excellent reflection on life’s many hurdles and the faith that keeps us all moving forward. It's quite a delightful play, and by the end love is dancing through the air and warm feelings fill everyone,” he added.

“After the success of last season’s The Dixie Swim Club by the same authors, I thought it would be fun to do anther of their shows …. actually one written prior to Dixie,” Ursone said.

“I’m hoping ultimately what people will get out of this play is that life is never over ... until that last breath is drawn,” said Gaffney. “You still have a chance to do something different, do something fun ... take up guitar, I don’t care, do something, learn something new because it’s what keeps you alive,” he added.

The opening weekend has sold out so the run has been extended through Saturday night, Feb.  1. Performances will be held in The Dressing Room Theatre Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings at 8 p.m. and Sunday afternoons at 2 p.m.. Seating is cabaret-style with a BYOEverything format.

Tickets are available from the Box Office at 203-461-6358 or online. Prices are $29 for adults, $22 for senior citizens and $14.50 for students and children.
