STAMFORD, Conn. -- The school year is just around the corner, but the Ferguson Library in Stamford will host several events for kids and adults to close out the summer.

Events for Children

Wiggle Worms Toddler Time -- Tuesday, August 20 at 11:15 a.m., Main Library Third Floor Auditorium. Songs, fingerplays, stories and movement activities. Independently-walking babies up to 3 ½ with an adult.

Back to School Storytime -- Tuesday, August 20 at 2 p.m. Main Library Third Floor Auditorium. Stories to get your child excited about going back to school, or starting for the first time. Grades Pre-K and up.

Kids' Book Discussion, "Holes," by Louis Sachar -- Thursday, August 22 at 7 p.m. Main Library Lower Level Program Room. Registration required. Call (203) 351-8242 or drop in to pick up a copy of the book. For kids entering grades 4 and up. Refreshments and door prizes.

Back to School Storycrafts -- Friday, August 23 at 4:15 p.m. Harry Bennett Branch. Get ready to return to school with stories and a craft. Registration required. Call 203 351-8294 or register online at www.fergusonlibrary.org.

Kids' Summer Reading Club Finale --  Saturday, August 24 at 11 a.m. Palace Theatre, 61 Atlantic Street, Stamford Live performance of The Swingset Mamas. Must have received an invitation as part of the 2013 Summer Reading Club. Generously supported by the Stamford Center for the Arts. Ticket is good for one Bookworm and an adult escort. Must have ticket to be admitted.

Teens

Teen Reading Club Finale -- Friday, August 23 at 5:30 p.m. Main Library Third Floor Auditorium. An invitation-only party for participants of the Teen Summer Reading Club. Have dinner and see a movie. Raffle and prizes. Must present ticket and arrive before Library closes at 6 p.m

Adults

Summer Reading Club Finale -- Kenn Moore Band, Wednesday, August 21 from 7 to 9 p.m., Harry Bennett Branch. Enjoy the unique sounds of alternative/folk rock with the Kenn Morr Band.

Medicare & Medicaid Counseling Sessions -- Thursday, August 22 from 1:30 to 4 p.m. Main Library Second Floor Study Room. Get answers to your questions about Medicare and Medicaid. 45 minute sessions by appointment only. Call 203 351-8231 to schedule an appointment.

Families

India's Culture -- Sunday, August 25 at 2 p.m. Main Library Third Floor Auditorium. Indian dance, food and readings. Sample rice from different countries. The first 30 families will receive a free copy of the picture book, "Everybody Cooks Rice," by Norah Dooley and Peter J. Thornton. Co-sponsored by the Connecticut Humanities Council.
