STAMFORD, Conn. -- The Broadway-hit "Les Miserables" is coming to Stamford.

Stamford's Curtain Call Inc., will present the musical, opening on Friday, Feb. 7, at the Kweskin Theatre. The show, directed by Eli Newsom, features musical direction from George Croom and choreography by Kari Ann Sweeney. The show runs on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays from Feb. 7 to March 8.

"This international smash-hit may be the most popular musical in the world," Curtain Call Inc. representatives said. "In 19th century France, Jean Valjean is released from 19 years of unjust imprisonment, but finds nothing in store for him but mistrust and mistreatment. He breaks his parole in hopes of starting a new life, initiating a life-long struggle for redemption as he is relentlessly pursued by police inspector Javert, who refuses to believe Valjean can change his ways."

The performances will be the first full-scale production of Les Miserables for Curtain Call Inc. Tickets are $29 for adults, $14.50 for students and $22 for seniors. Thursday, Friday and Saturday performances are at 8 p.m. and the Sunday performances begin at 2 p.m. For tickets, visit the Curtain Call Inc. website.
