Stamford's Avon Theatre To Show Coastal Change Film

STAMFORD, Conn. -- The Avon Theatre & the League of Women Voters of Greenwich, Darien and Westchester will present a documentary that asks tough questions about our coastal communities and our relationship to the land.

"Shored Up" will be shown at 7:30 p.m. Sept. 24 at the theater, 272 Bedford St. The film documents the disappearing beaches and coastline and what a rising sea will do to our homes, our businesses, and the survival of our communities.

There will be a post-film question-and-answer session with Denise Savageau, conservation director of the Town of Greenwich.

Standard ticket prices are free for Carte Blanche members, $6 for members, $8 for students and seniors and $11 for non-members. For tickets, call the business office during daytime hours at 203-661-0321, or the box office during showtimes at 203-967-3660 Ext. 2.
