The film follows a California brown pelican as it faces survival challenges from its capture on the Golden Gate Bridge to its refuge at the wildlife rehabilitation facility. It gives viewers a glimpse of its nesting grounds and Pacific migration.

It is directed by Judy Irving, who is known for “The Wild Parrots of Telegraph Hill.”

“Like The Wild Parrots of Telegraph Hill," Irving’s study of brown pelicans is affectionate, at times humorous, and reveals a sense of wonder and awe at the birds’ simple beauty,” said Carolyn Jones of the San Francisco Chronicle.

The G-rated film is presented in English and runs for about 79 minutes.

Tickets are free for Carte Blanche Members, $6 for Avon Theatre members, $8 for students and seniors, and $11 for non-members.

Members of co-presenting organizations Audubon Connecticut and The Stamford Land Conservation Trust can also take advantage of the $6 Avon member price.

Tickets can be purchased online or by calling the Avon business office at 203-661-0321, or the box office at 203-967-3660, ext. 2.
