Stamford's Avon Theatre Presents Film 'The New Girlfriend'

STAMFORD, Conn. -- The Avon Theatre and the Alliance Francaise of Greenwich present François Ozon's humorous psychological drama "The New Girlfriend" (2014) on Thursday, Nov. 12 at 7:30 p.m. in Stamford.

"The New Girlfriend" stars Anaïs Demoustier as Claire, a young woman whose closest friend since childhood, Lea, passes away leaving behind a husband, David (Romain Duris) and a newborn baby. One day she drops by David's house unexpectedly and finds him dressed in his dead wife's clothes and feeding their baby with a bottle.

"The New Girlfriend" screened at the 2014 Toronto International Film Festival. It's rated R and is in French with English subtitles. Its running time is 116 minutes.

The Avon Theatre Film Center is located on 272 Bedford St. in Stamford.
