Stamford Theater To Screen Oscar Nominees

STAMFORD, Conn. — The Avon Theatre in Stamford will be helping people get ready for the Academy Awards next month showing many of the nominated films throughout February.

Individual prices are: Carte Blanche members:  free, members: $6, nonmembers: $11, and for series badges: members: $35, nonmembers: $75, a news release said. There will also be a special discounted price of $8 for children, students, and seniors for "ParaNorman," on Feb. 16, the release said.

Tickets can be purchased for individual films or for the entire series through the Avon’s business office, 203-661-0321, or the box office, 203-967-3660 ext. 2, a news release said. The theater is at 272 Bedford St.

Chasing Ice, Rated PG-13, 74 minutes. Nominated for Best Original Song (and one of 9 finalists for the documentary category), Feb. 10 at 11 a.m. ? ParaNorman, Rated PG, 93 minutes. Nominated for Best Animated Feature Film, Feb. 16 at 11 a.m. ? Beasts of the Southern Wild, Rated PG-13, 91 minutes.
