The kickoff reception will be held in Westy’s grand lobby located at 80 Brownhouse Rd.
This drive will run from Nov. 18 to Dec. 12.
During the reception, “Dear Santa” letters written by the children will be showcased. Guests are welcome to take as many letters as they would like and fulfill the children’s holiday dreams, as well as providing a warm coat, mittens and a hat. All are encouraged to attend the reception and participate in the program.
“The generosity provided by those answering the ‘Dear Santa’ letters will be the only Christmas these children have,” said Kaisa Newhams, founder of Operation Santa. “Additionally, without the continued help of Westy, we would not be able to continue to expand our effort to include more and more children each year. Westy’s assistance in providing a drop off location, secure storage and delivery of the donations greatly reduces the logistical challenges of the program, thereby allowing us to focus more attention on the children and their needs.”
Westy Self Storage has been participating in Operation Santa for the past nine years. In addition to the donation drop off location for Operation Santa, Westy will also provide storage for the donations as well as final delivery via Westy trucks to Benjamin Franklin School/P.S. 55 in the Bronx.
