Speaker To Give First-Hand Account In Greenwich Of Syrian Refugee Camps

GREENWICH, Conn. -- Women of Vision Fairfield County invites those interested in learning more about the Syrian refugee crisis to a Nov. 2 presentation in Greenwich by a World Vision worker who has visited refugee camps.

Steve Haas, catalyst and senior engagement leader at World Vision, will talk about his personal experiences traveling to refugee camps, along with the political, cultural and religious forces behind the war in Syria.

Haas' presentation starts at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 2 at the Chapel at Christ Church, 254 E. Putnam Ave., Greenwich. Doors open at 7 p.m.

The war in Syria has become the biggest humanitarian tragedy in recent times, with nearly 4.5 million Syrians living in refugee camps. The refugee crisis has created an emergency in Syria's neighboring countries and around the world.

Women of Vision Fairfield County is a ministry of World Vision, an international Christian humanitarian organization that has been working in Syria since 2013. For more details about World Vision, visit the website.

Women of Vision Fairfield County is a volunteer organization that works close to home as well as internationally. Members volunteer regularly with Stamford-based Inspirica and in Title I schools in Fairfield County.
