Bill Judice met Rosarii Farley, owner of Crescendo Productions’ Institute of Rock in Stamford, at the Memorial Day parade in Old Greenwich last May.

She was overseeing a sidewalk gig by one of her school’s bands, where the tagline is “teaching kids & teens how to rock!” He asked whether she ever did that for adults, and the next week Farley called back with a plan.

Soon another band was born at Institute of Rock was born. Judice had spent two years in his basement learning to play guitar by himself, but now he had the opportunity to take it to the next level.

The new band, Mad River, features two vocalists, Russ Tuck and Jody Ellsworth, bassist Michael Mugrage and drummer Bob Ramos and is excited to hit the stage.

The Beach House, at 220 Sound Beach Ave., Old Greenwich, features fine casual dining. For more information call 203-637-0367 or visit the restaurant's website.   To learn more about the programs at the Institute of Rock, visit its website.
