The victim, 19, was walking home past the park when he noticed a group of teenaged males in the park approaching him, police said. One began a conversation with him while the others “maneuvered” behind the victim, and he was punched in the head and beaten up, police said.

During the incident an undisclosed amount of cash and the victim’s cell phone were stolen, police said.

He suffered many lacerations to his face, back of his head, hands and elbows during the incident, and told police he would seek medical attention on his own, police said.

The victim wore glasses, which were knocked off when he was hit, and he was only able to describe the person that approached him as a black teenage male, police said.

There were no other incidents and police were unable to find any suspects, who all fled the scene after the robbery, police said.
