Population Expert To Address World Affairs Forum In Stamford

STAMFORD, Conn. -- Population Institute President Robert J. Walker will present "Demographic Vulnerability: Where Population Growth Poses the Greatest Challenges," during the Ambassador's Roundtable Forum in Stamford on Wednesday, Jan. 13.

Walker directs the Population Institute’s advocacy and public education activities, including its work on issues related to health, economic development, sustainability and the environment. 

Prior to joining the Population Institute, Walker was president of the Population Resource Center. He was formerly the executive director of the Common Cause Education Fund and worked for 14 years on Capitol Hill. In addition, Walker has appeared on numerous news shows and has written opinion pieces for papers such as "USA Today," the "Los Angeles Times," and many others. 

He received his Bachelor's degree in Economics from Rockford College and his Juris Doctor from the University of Illinois School of Law. He attended the University of Sydney in Australia under a Rotary graduate fellowship. 

The event will be held from 6:30 to 8 p.m. with a cocktail hour beforehand at the Stamford Yacht Club.
