CT Restaurant Closes After Owners Purchase Another Eatery: 'Come Visit Soon'

A popular breakfast and lunch spot in Connecticut has announced its sudden closure following the owner's purchase of another restaurant.

Main Street Eats, located in the Litchfield County town of Watertown at 651 Main St., announced in a social media post on Wednesday, Jan. 31 that it would be closing up shop effective on Thursday, Feb. 1. 

In the same announcement, the owners also revealed they would be moving operations to another eatery called Top O' the Mornin', located in the New Haven County city of Waterbury at 2740 South Main St.

The eatery's owners expressed a mixture of emotions toward the move. 

"It’s crazy," they wrote on social media, continuing, "While we are super sad to leave all our amazing customers, we are excited for the opportunity to grow!" 

Although the restaurant and its operations will be leaving Watertown, the owners still plan to serve the town through delivery. 

"Please stick around for updates on the new location and come visit soon!!" the owners wrote on their website.

The news of the move garnered encouraging comments from past patrons. 

"Congratulations on your next chapter and we look forward to coming to the new place for breakfast," commented Cheryl P. of Watertown. 

"Will definitely miss you in Watertown but can't wait to visit the new place!" wrote Megan G.
