County Executive Ed Day threatened Scenic Development, LLC with foreclosure on 150 acres of the 208-acre site, according to an earlier report by The Daily Voice.

Scenic Development last paid taxes in October even though, The Daily Voice report said, it had worked out a payment plan with the county only months before.

According to the earlier Daily Voice report, the financially struggling county recently tightened up the grace period for those in arrears. It was three years, but now it’s two.

If Scenic Hudson hadn’t paid up, the land would have been seized by the county and auctioned off, the Daily Voice report said.

Rockland has named about 125 non-residential properties that are in arrears, meaning that it is owed $3.3 million in back taxes, the Daily Voice story said.

The parcels that the Monsey developer owned money on are located off Route 306 in Ramapo, the lohud story said.

Scenic Hudson’s plans to build a large housing development on Patrick Farm has faced legal action from environmental groups, according to media reports.
