The project will address the erosion of the south shore of the basin.

Vehicle and pedestrian access to the west end of the beach will be restricted once construction begins.

“We know residents enjoy the beach all year around, however a temporary restriction of vehicle traffic to the west end is required for the safety of the public as the construction progresses,” said Westport Parks and Recreation Director Stuart McCarthy.

Pedestrians will still be able to access the west end through the south beach but will be restricted from the roadway and construction area.
