Health Pros To Talk Disease Prevention In Stamford

STAMFORD, Conn. — The Business Council of Fairfield County will be helping employers prevent the spread of diseases around the office Thursday with a panel discussion on “Preventing the Spread of Infectious Disease at Work.”

The discussion will focus on the new and potentially lethal Avian Influenza A virus, which has been responsible for 24 deaths in China, and has a Connecticut-based preparing for a possible pandemic, a release from the Business Council said.

Providing the latest information on the diseases and what employers can do to prevent their spread in the office will be Dr. Michael Parry, director of Infectious Diseases & Microbiology, Stamford Hospital, Carol Kagdis, corporate medical director of Sikorsky Aircraft and and Anne Fountain, director of Health and Social Services for the City of Stamford.

The event will be from 8 to 9:30 a.m. at the Landmark Conference Center, Building Four. Registration is $25 for members, $35 for non-members and can be done by calling the Business Council of Fairfield County at 203-359-3220.
