STAMFORD, Conn. -- A variety of health services and some useful tips on diet, exercise and lifestyle activities will be available Thursday as part of “Health Day,” an event co-hosted by Franklin Street Community Health Center and Neighbors Link Stamford.
The event, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Neighbors Link Stamford, 75 Selleck St., is designed to provide Stamford’s immigrant population with important medical and dental services.
In addition to information, the event will include: dental cleaning and application of fluoride sealants, HIV testing, blood pressure screenings, vision screening and healthy cooking demonstrations. Attendees also will find information on nutrition, diabetes, hypertension, sexually transmitted diseases and access to health care services.
A Community Health Center Access to Care Coordinator will be on hand to help qualified people apply for state medical insurance.
Community Health Center and Neighbors Link Stamford have worked together the past five years to improve health and wellness for the area's immigrants who often lack access to quality health care services.
