STAMFORD, Conn. — Former New York Yankee Tino Martinez will be the Master of Ceremonies at the Stamford Hospital Foundation’s eighth annual Dream Ball Gala.
The all-star first baseman and four-time World Series Champion first got involved with Stamford Hospital after Scott Krug, New York Yankee executive and foundation board member, and his wife’s son was born there with medical issues, a news release said. Martinez heard about the support the hospital gave the Krugs, and was deeply moved, the release said.
The night will include a Giving Tree, silent and live auctions, dinner and dancing to the musical styling of Edie Brickell.
Last year more than $700,000 was raised by around 850 guests during the event, the release said.
This year’s event will take place on Nov. 3 at the Tully Health Center, 32 Strawberry Hill Court, and start with a cocktail reception at 6 p.m. with dinner and dancing at 7 p.m. For more information, please contact Kari Pollak at (203) 276-2554, email her or visit the Dream Ball website.
