“An Evening Inspired by Downton Abbey” will include a cocktail reception and seated dinner. Valet parking will be provided.

“We always look for new and interesting ways to engage the community with our events, and a 'Downton Abbey' theme seemed right this year,” said Bruce Museum Special Events Manager Jen Bernstein. “It’s such a popular show, and when we toured this incredible mansion right here in Greenwich, we knew we had to do it.”

The Topping Estate was designed in 1916 by William B. Tubby for Daniel Grey Reid. Reid envisaged the estate as a present for his only child, Rhea, who married Henry J. Topping in 1910.

A decade later, the estate totaled 208 acres, housing 23 servants and seven families.

Period dress is encouraged and formal dress is required.

For an invitation to the fund-raiser, contact Bernstein at jbernstein@brucemuseum.org or (203) 413-6761. Space is limited.

Tickets are available online at DowntonAbbeyBruceMuseum.eventbrite.com.

Proceeds from the benefit will help support children's education and scholarship programs at the Bruce Museum.
