Nella Krutolow, 84, Of Danbury, Established Krutolow Jewelers

DANBURY, Conn. - Nella Krutolow of Danbury died Tuesday, July 22. She was 84.

Krutolow was born March 24, 1930, in Poland, and was the daughter of Julius and Bronislawa (Weinstok) Stumer. As a baby, she relocated to Antwerp, Belgium with her sister, mother and father who was a diamond cutter by trade. They resided there for nine years and then moved to France where they resided for seven years prior to coming to the United States in 1946. They settled in Queens, N.Y. Following her marriage, she moved to Brooklyn, N.Y., and resided in Brooklyn until 1968 coming to Danbury. In 1975, she and her husband established Krutolow Jewelers of Danbury where she served as vice-president and treasurer.

Krutolow is survived by a son, Marcus “Marc” Krutolow of Danbury; daughters, Brenda K. Powers (Francis) and Ellen Krutolow all of Danbury; a granddaughter; and three great grandchildren. She was predeceased her parents; husband, Alvin Krutolow; and brother, Maurice Stumer.

Graveside funeral services and burial will take place Friday, July 25 at 1 p.m. in the United Jewish Center Cemetery, Gray’s Bridge Road, Brookfield, with Cantor Penny Kessler of the United Jewish Center of Danbury officiating. Shiva will be observed Friday, July 25 following the burial until 8 p.m. at 255 Middle River Road, Danbury.
