Brokaw Will Be Honored At Greenwich Gala For Multiple Myeloma Foundation

FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. – The Norwalk-based Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation will hold its annual gala on Saturday, Nov. 8, at Hyatt Regency Greenwich. Tom Brokaw of NBC News will receive the Spirit of Hope Award.

Brokaw was diagnosed with multiple myeloma, a cancer affecting blood cells in the bone marrow, in August 2013 at the Mayo Clinic. The cancer is considered treatable but incurable. 

Brian Williams of NBC News will be the master of ceremonies. Musician Wynton Marsalis and Dr. William N. Hait, global head of research and development for Janssen Research & Development, will also be honored at the gala.

Nearly 1,300 guests attend the gala, which includes prominent business executives and high impact philanthropists. The event also includes a silent and live auction.

The Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation was founded by New Canaan resident Kathy Giusti.
