"Stamford, A Small Town Remembers" is a documentary 350 years in the making. A production of award-winning producer, writer, director Michael Macari, himself a native of Stamford, it is a production of Stamford-based EVTV in association with the Stamford Historical Society, according to a press release.

"Stamford, A Small Town Remembers" chronicles the rise of this American small town from an agrarian community on the shores of Long Island Sound, through its development as an industrial powerhouse, to the small city it is today.

“It is truly an American story,” said Macari in a press release. “The story is not just one of transformation from farming to industry to corporate and financial to an information and entertainment-based economy, it’s the story of immigrants, and of war and sacrifice. It’s about those who paved the way and created the cities and communities that thrive throughout America today, beginning here in Stamford."

Macari teamed up with longtime friend and Stamford attorney, the late Joseph Richichi, to bring to light the testimonies of immigrants and war veterans, to in essence tell the history of their hometown, according to a press release. With the on-camera testimonies of more than 40 citizens and celebrities and more than 70 contributors of home and archival photos, film and materials, Macari and Richichi captured the essence of Stamford in nostalgic fashion as told through the eyes of its citizens from the 20th century, according to a press release.

There will be a post-film question-and-answer session with Macari.

The Avon Theatre is at 272 Bedford St.
