Popular CTWorks Career Coach Continues Visits To Stratford Library

STRATFORD, Conn. -- The CTWorks Career Coach, a career center on wheels designed to deliver career services and training opportunities at a variety of locations throughout Connecticut, will continue visits at the Stratford Library through 2016.

The 2016 schedule is as follows: May 23, June 20 (resume class), July 25, Aug. 22, Sept. 26 (Microsoft Excel class), Oct. 24, Nov. 21 and Dec. 19. The CTWorks Career Coach will be on-site in front of the Stratford Library, 2203 Main St., from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. for each Monday session. 

The career coach delivers free services to low-wage workers and job seekers in southwestern Connecticut who are unable to get the services at local career centers due to lack of transportation, childcare or employment schedules. 

The coach will offer computer workshops,10 computer work stations, high-speed access to the Internet (via onboard satellite), a 42-inch plasma TV with Smartboard overlay (for training use by the instructor), 10 wireless laptops and exterior plasma TV, an interview room and an ADA-compliant lift and work station for people with disabilities. 

These workshops are free and open to job seekers 16 year or older. Basic computer skills are helpful but not required. Services are on a first-come, first-served basis. There is limited seating.
