Presented by local theater company Curtain Call, the show will take place in The Dressing Room Theatre at 8 p.m. weekdays and 2 p.m. Sunday.

"Due to the huge pool of amazingly talented females in the area, I'm always looking for great vehicles to showcase them, so this was one way of doing that," said Lou Ursone, executive director of Curtain Call.

The Pullitzer Prize-winning play chronicles four Chicago real estate agents who are desperate to sell undesirable locations and willing to do so by any means over the span of a couple of days. It is based on the experiences of playwright David Mamet, who had worked in a similar office.

"Why not do Mamet with women?" said Julie Petrak, the director of the production. "This particular area has such a wealth of immensely talented female actors."

The cast includes Nancy Anderson of Elmsford, N.Y., Erica Evelti of Stamford, Paulette Layton of Ridgefield, Marilyn Olsen of Woodbridge, Julie Thaxter-Gourlay of Port Chester, N.Y., Lynnette Victoria of Bridgeport and Gail Yudain of Stamford. Joining Petrak on the creative team are production designer Peter Barbieri Jr. of Fairfield, costume designer Christine Mallardi of Norwalk as well as the stage management team of Stacy Lupo and Brent McKinley.

"The Dressing Room Theatre is the perfect venue for this production -- the space is intimate -- the audience can't help but hang on for the ride that unfolds mere feet from their seats," said Petrak.

Ursone was able to get Mamet's blessing for the cross-gender version. The show, described as rated R, will be presented without intermission and has a running time of 85 minutes.

Ticket prices are $32 for adults, $25 for senior citizens and $16 for students and children. On Thursday, Oct. 13 and 20, all seats are $25. For tickets and more information, call 203-461-6358 or visit this link. The Dressing Room Theatre is at 1349 Newfield Ave., Stamford.
