Trumbull's Make-a-wish Appoints Stamford-Based WWE Exec To Board

TRUMBULL, Conn. -- Trumbull-based Make-A-Wish Connecticut recently appointed Michelle Wilson to its board of directors.

Wilson is chief revenue and marketing officer for WWE, based in Stamford, overseeing all of the company’s revenue lines, including consumer products, sponsorship sales, WWE Network and new business development. She also oversees marketing, corporate communications, creative services, special events, research and community relations.

In addition, Wilson spearheaded the company’s efforts to launch WWE Network, a direct-to-consumer subscription service.

Wilson began her career as a chemical engineer at Johnson & Johnson but quickly recognized her interest in marketing and general management. After completing her MBA at Harvard Business School, she served as brand manager at Nabisco for five years. It was then she received the call for her “dream job” at the National Basketball Association.

Since then, she has spent her career in sports and entertainment with positions with the NBA, XFL, the United States Tennis Association/US Open and now WWE.

Wilson’s presence on the board will help to continue to grow and develop the Connecticut chapter, expanding its reach throughout the state to fulfill the wishes of eligible children.

“For the past seven years at WWE, I’ve been involved with Make-A-Wish at the national level, supporting their mission and wish granting around the country, including our most recent celebration this summer of WWE Superstar John Cena’s record 500th wish,” Wilson said. “After seeing the impact that Make-A-Wish has not only on the deserving children but also on their families, I wanted to get involved personally and on a local level. I’m honored to have been selected to join the Make-A-Wish Connecticut Board.”

Wilson sits on the board of directors for the Ad Council and the Stamford, Connecticut Chamber of Commerce.

The mission of Make-A-Wish is to grant the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy.
