For one, there's a new Artist in Residence program which highlights area artists, putting their works on the wall., “The Fez supports live musical talent nightly. We wanted to branch out and further embrace the art community by offering space for artists of the canvas and camera, as well," explained Nancy, who spearheads the effort.

The Fez partnered with the Stamford Art Association and is now offering space to their artist community on a rotating basis and is happy to connect those interested in purchasing directly to the artist.

On the walls now: work by Susan Christiano, a Stamford local and beloved science teacher at Hart Magnet Elementary School.

The Moroccan inspired restaurant also recently added a number of theme nights, think game night, open-mic night, karaoke and, on Monday nights, half-priced bottles of wine. Live entertainment is offered Thursday through Sunday.

"My husband not only brings a tremendous background in the food service industry, he is a talented musician, so keeping the music program strong is essential," said Nancy.

Menu-wise, expect a $10 “Power Lunch," along with a diverse assortment of vegan, vegetarian and gluten free options. The Fez has also expanded its beverage program with artisanal cocktails and a special wine list.

"Our focus on wines is on the delicious but unusual, with wines from Uruguay, Lebanon, Turkey, South Africa," said Nancy. "We like to give our guests the opportunity to taste wines they cannot get anywhere else."

This summer The Fez is planning on some dining room renovations and upgrades. "It's all about enhancing the guest's' experience," said Nancy. "We like mixing it up."

The Fez is at 227 Summer St., (203) 324-3391, www.fezeg.com/.
