STAMFORD, Conn. – Russell J. Berkowitz, founder of the Connecticut-based personal injury law firm the Berkowitz Law Firm, has been recognized in the 21st edition of Best Lawyers in America for his work in personal injury litigation.
Best Lawyers is the longest-standing peer-reviewed legal publication in the U.S., according to a press release.
To be considered for Best Lawyers in America, each candidate must pass a strict peer-reviewed methodology.
Berkowitz is known for obtaining substantial settlements and verdicts for adults and children who suffer severe injuries stemming from birth injuries, brain and spinal cord injuries, cancer misdiagnosis, wrongful death and other life-changing maladies.
Some of Berkowitz's recent achievements include a $9 million medical malpractice recovery on behalf of an infant who suffered severe brain damage during delivery, a $6.1 million medical malpractice settlement on behalf of a client who sustained a spinal cord injury during neck surgery, and $5 million medical malpractice payout against a physician who failed to timely diagnose a client's bacterial infection, which led to catastrophic limb-altering injuries.
Berkowitz is board certified as a civil trial advocate by the National Board of Trial Advocacy. He also is a fellow in the Connecticut chapter of the American Board of Trial Advocates, and a fellow in the American Academy of Medical Malpractice Lawyers. He has been voted as a Super Lawyer by Connecticut Magazine and New England Super Lawyers Magazine for his work in the field of medical malpractice every year since each list has been published.
