STAMFORD, Conn. — Stamford Hospital’s Keith Gardner was named 2012 Employee of the Year, a news release said.
Gardner, a Milford resident, works as pulmonary services coordinator with the respiratory care department for the hospital, the release said. He was named employee of the month for October and was chosen for the annual award by the other monthly winners, the release said.
“Keith comes to work every day and embodies our values of teamwork, integrity, compassion, respect and accountability,” Darryl McCormick, senior vice president, talent and culture, said in the release, “He always puts the patient first and will go out of his way on a daily basis to ensure their experience is positive.”
“He is a one-in-a-million type employee that we are lucky to have,” Robert Salvi, manager of Medical Services and Keith’s supervisor, said in the release.
He received the honor at the hospital’s “Celebration of Achievement” event. About 450 employees of the hospital were honored at the event, including milestone years of service, and the nightingale nursing award winners, physician recognition winners and the Planetree caregiver of the year and physician champion of the year, the release said.
