STAMFORD, Conn. Employees at Nestle Waters in Stamford grabbed their hammers and nails and took time out of their day to build recycling bins.
The 10 wooden bins being built Wednesday and Thursday will be placed at Cloonan Middle School , Childcare Learning Centers and Domus as part of the companys initiative to promote recycling, Delphine Fairley, of Nestle said. More than 50 employees will be working on the bins.
In addition to the recycling bins, Nestle Waters North America also visits schools to help kids learn about recycling and has programs to get other corporations to recycle more, she said.
The recycling bin project is part of a national month of service for employees of Nestle Waters North America, which expected more than 300 employees to volunteer.
Other projects Nestle will be partaking in during its month of service include cleaning and planting at Mill River Park , a beach clean-up with SoundWaters , and helping out at the food bank, Fairley said. She added that her co-workers are willing to help any worthy organization in Stamford.
They raise their hands and say, Yes, Ill do this,' Fairley said.
