As part of that effort, Patriot Bank is hosting a free expert speaker series for the members of both TANGO and the Connecticut Community Providers Association.

The first session, entitled “Managing the Modern Workplace; Are you ready?” took place Sept. 24 at the Patriot Bank headquarters, and addressed some of the ever evolving human resource issues nonprofits of all sizes confront.

Featured speakers at the round-style table program discussed:

  • The changing demographics, new technology and employee expectations driving dramatic change in today’s workplace
  • How understanding and planning for the shifting workplace is critical to future organizational success and minimizing risk
  • Professional guidance on managing overtime, developing work-from-home policies and understanding the concepts of email curfews
  • Engage the participants in a peer-to-peer discussion around various HR issues

“It is unquestioned that nonprofits play a vital role in all of our communities. In Fairfield County, nonprofits tackle a wide range of duties no one else can or will, and that is why Patriot Bank is going to such lengths to build and support this informational and educational series brought to you by TANGO," Patriot Bank CEO Ken Neilson said.

"Patriot Bank believes that if we can help empower each organization to have an even greater positive impact in the community and sector they serve—cultural, educational or organizations helping people with disabilities and seniors—then we are contributing mightily in the communities we serve," he said.

TANGO membership is free for nonprofits and grants access to monthly webinars, workshops and seminars. For more information, visit www.tangoalliance.org/.
