The event begins at noon at Hotel Zero Degrees in Norwalk.

“Awareness is key – the answer is to be pro-active and leverage best practices that help you identify these activities,'' said Garry Feldman, keynote speaker and president of U.S. Computer Connection. "We provide the tools to keep you pro-active, alert and ready – it’s a part of business continuity planning that cannot be overlooked.”

Feldman is working with state Rep. Caroline Simmons, D-Stamford, to create a public-private partnership that will address rising cyber-attacks to computers. They are looking for pathways to reduce the vulnerabilities of such attacks. The public-private partnership looks to advance awareness, provide training and use-case exercises.

Although the bill is in primitive form, Simmons and Feldman are collaborating with other state representatives to create a best-in-class program that can address such attacks.

“The increasing number of cyber-attacks and sophistication of such attacks demonstrate the need for better cyber defenses,'' Simmons said. "Raising awareness and providing information to businesses and the public on how to defend against cyber-attacks and hacking incidents is critical to our economic security.”

Expertise will be shared on how to educate, leverage and spread awareness on the cyber security issue.
