FAIRFIELD, Conn. – Dr. Christine Gould’s friends have been telling her for years that she should open her own aesthetic treatment spa. In April, the longtime Southport physician followed through on their advice.
Gould’s new business, All About You Medical Spa, opened in early April at 1891 Post Road Unit B in Fairfield. In this boutique medical spa, clients will be able to get tasteful, practical, personalized medical aesthetic treatments at reasonable rates directly from Gould.
At the spa, Gould offers anti-aging treatments, laser hair removal, Smart Lipo and many minimally invasive cosmetic procedures to patients of all ages.
“I’ve been working in medical spas for about 10 years, she said. “It was time to go out on my own and start my own business. I have a good base of patients and wanted to provide them access to me. There’s a big demand, and I wanted to fill that demand.”
All clients will get her personal touch, Gould promised. She will work with assistants for various procedures but handles all of the treatments and laser work. She understands that patients have busy schedules and works with them to arrange evening and weekend appointments.
“The plan is to exceed the client’s expectations in all ways and deliver the best and most personalized aesthetic treatments possible. It starts with a consultation. Whether someone wants to tackle unwanted hair for good, treat cellulite or areas of stubborn fat deposition, erase signs of aging and sun damage, remove pigment, treat rosacea or acne, stimulate new skin growth, I will help the patient formulate a plan of attack that is right for their budget and their sensibilities,'' Gould said.
"Smart Lipo is fast becoming the most popular treatment, and with summer just around the corner, now is the time to address the areas of your body that you are not completely satisfied with,'' she added. "This minimally invasive procedure literally melts fat and tightens skin without plastic surgery and the need for general anesthesia. There is minimal down time. Smart Lipo has revolutionized aesthetic medicine. Patients can have a nonsurgical neck lift on Thursday and will very likely be back to work on Monday with few to no signs that they have had a procedure. “
Combine that with laser skin treatments that rejuvenate the skin, fuel cell growth, reduce wrinkles and bring back a youthful appearance, and you can change your look and your life with minimal invasion.
Gould works with the best lasers and technology. “These are exceptional cutting edge machines that are highly effective," she said. “But they have to be in the right hands. I’m the only one at my business who will operate that laser.”
While enjoying her work as a physician, Gould said she thought that expanding in the world of medical aesthetics by opening this personalized spa is just what the doctor ordered.
“I do feel like I have a talent in this area,’’ she said. “I appreciate beauty and try to optimize that. I don’t try to make people look different. I have an aesthetic approach that I tailor to each patient. I want each patient to actively participate in their care plan, and I want them to be completely pleased.”
She feels her business will be well-received in Fairfield County. “Over the years, people in this area have grown more and more open to medical aesthetics’,’ she said. “There’s definitely a huge demand, and patients are looking for procedures that are less invasive and more natural looking.
“More importantly, people are very discerning around here. There’s a demand for good service, a demand for quality service. Our service will be unique. They can call me and say to meet them at 8 in the morning to treat them, and I will make every effort to accommodate. It’s like turn-key access.”
As she gets ready to start her new business, Gould is excited and energized to tackle the challenge.
“I feel like it has been a long time coming,’’ she said. “The opportunity is there, the time is right. I’m convinced it will be very successful and I plan on building great relationships with her patients, hopefully for the long term.”
