Stamford Posted Hot Job Market For November

FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. -- The job market in Fairfield County was mostly flat again last month, and it appears 2014 will begin in a similar fashion, according to the Job Market report for November from FairfieldCountyJobs.com.

“The November numbers indicate continued market stagnancy in the county. It looks like the year will finish out somewhat flat, off-set by initial strength we saw in Quarter 1 of 2013," said David Lewis, CEO of AllCountyJobs.com, which includes FairfieldCountyJobs.com, in a release.

"The outlook, therefore, remains murky to neutral in terms of future regional job market growth,” he added.

Highlights from the November report include:

  • Job postings for November were up a modest 6 percent over October.
  • Positions in administration, accountancy and health services were the most posted job titles.
  • The industries of accounting, healthcare and financial services accounted for the highest volume of postings this month.
  • Stamford, Greenwich and Norwalk were the hot markets for the month, followed by Westport and Wilton.

Founded in 1999, FairfieldCountyJobs.com is the area’s leading regional job board, with more than 100,000 unique visitors clicking through up to 500,000 times per month to view details on open jobs in the area.

The site is also home to a resume database with more than 45,000 from area job seekers, allowing employers to source candidates directly on its website.
