Verrill Dana, a law firm, represented Legacy Supply Chain Inc. in the sale of Vitran Corp. Inc.’s Supply Chain Operation Division to Legacy Supply Chain Inc., which was recognized as the Retail Manufacturing/Distribution Sector Deal of the Year.

“Since 2002, we have been honoring the leading M&A transactions, companies and dealmakers. The deal team that included Verrill Dana was chosen from over 400 finalists to receive the award. It gives us a great pleasure to recognize Verrill Dana and bestow upon them our highest honor for M&A firms and professionals,” said David Fergusson, president of the M&A Advisor, in a release.

“The award is a recognition of all the parties involved in this exciting transaction,” said Verrill Dana partner Mark Googins in the release. “The acquisition involved locations in eight states and three Canadian provinces and expanded Legacy’s distribution footprint to a total of 42 facilities, five transportation offices, and over 6 million square feet of warehousing space in North America and expanded their supply chain presence into the large retail market.

"We were delighted to be able to help Ron Cain and his team at Legacy with this acquisition and the related financing, relying on a team of Verrill Dana lawyers from many disciplines and coordinating the efforts of lawyers at other firms in Canada and in five other states. We look forward to Legacy’s continued growth as a leader in third-party logistics both in the U.S. and now in Canada.”
