The opportunity was made possible through a grant from Bank of America that underwrote internships for six recent Stamford High School graduates and rising seniors at nonprofit housing agencies.

Jaime, who is headed to Babson College in the fall, says he gained more than just office skills during his five-week internship with New Neighborhoods.

“I would like to thank Bank of America for sponsoring my internship, and NNI’s staff for treating me as an equal and for making this a great experience for me,” Jamie said in a statement. “Before my internship, I was not aware of NNI’s significant role within our community. I went on a tour of NNI’s properties and witnessed its tremendous impact first hand.

He continued, stating, "NNI helps hundreds of families live in modern-style units at very affordable rates. The market rate for most units is double or triple what NNI tenants pay.”
