First County Bank Grant Helps Stamford Pickup Program For Seniors

STAMFORD, Conn. — Senior Services of Stamford will continue its door-to-door service of taking residents to medical and dental appointments thanks to a $10,000 grant from the First County Bank Foundation.

“We are so thankful to the First County Bank Foundation for this generous grant. These funds provide direct assistance to Stamford’s senior residents,” Kathleen Bordelon, executive director of Senior Services of Stamford, said in a news release.

“The organization is dedicated to improving the quality of life of all Stamford seniors, and we are impressed with their commitment to this cause,” Rey Giallongo, chairman and chief executive officer of First County Bank, said in the release.

The medical transportation program operates Mondays through Fridays from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for residents older than 60, the release said. Payment is not required, but contributions are accepted.
