Darien Social Holds One Last Party As It Closes Forever; New Eatery Planned

DARIEN, Conn. -- Darien Social, a lively neighborhood favorite at 10 Cedar Street, will forever close its doors on Sunday, April 2.

But it's going out with a bang. 

Expect a huge party complete with live music (at 9 p.m.) and drink specials (at 5 p.m.) — think $5 beers, mixed drinks and wines by the glass.

The announcement was posted on the eatery's Facebook page earlier this week and was met with lots of comments of disbelief. 

The restaurant has been serving lunch and dinner since 2012 and has hosted many community-oriented events.

But don't worry. Darien, you won't go hungry. Cos Cob-based Louie’s Italian Restaurant and Bar plans to open in the same space by late-April.
