STAMFORD, Conn. — The state of Connecticut was working out a deal with Freedom Group to bring the gun manufacturer to Stamford about a week before the deadly shooting occurred at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, The Hartford Courant reported.
According to the story, an official with the state Economic Development Office sent the Freedom Group an offer for a $1 million loan at an interest rate of 2 percent annually as well as other incentives to move its headquarters and executives from North Carolina to Stamford.
