STAMFORD, Conn. — Construction on the new Stamford Hospital will officially begin Tuesday with a groundbreaking ceremony.
The hospital will be built in a single phase and is scheduled to be completed for 2016, a statement from the hospital said. The total estimated cost for the project is $450 million.
The new hospital will feature new patient care units, larger surgical suites, a new Emergency Department, centralized mother-child services and more, the hospital said.
Hospital executives, board members and other staff members will be in attendance to celebrate the start of construction.
