STAMFORD, Conn. Coca-Cola is helping Stamford improve its recycling efforts by donating 10 bins to the city through the Keep America Beautiful program, a news release said. The bins will be located at three schools and Columbus Park.
Providing infrastructure for people to recycle on-the-go in our communities is a key component of making recycling a natural thing to do, Matthew C. McKenna, chief executive officer for Keep America Beautiful , said in the news release.
The Bin Program , started seven years ago, has placed over 29,000 bins in over 500 communities in 48 states and Washington D.C., the release said. Recipients are chosen based on need, recycling experience and the ability to sustain the program going forward, the release said.
