CEO Of Stamford Women's Business Group Elected To National Post

STAMFORD, Conn. — Fran Pastore, founder and CEO of the Stamford-based Women’s Business Development Council, was re-elected to the Board of Directors of Association of Women's Business Centers.

“Bringing WBDC expertise to a national level, sharing our experience and knowledge while making an impact beyond the borders of Connecticut with other women leaders who I respect and admire is extremely gratifying,” Pastore said in a news release.

The Association of Women's Business Centers is a not-for-profit organization that represents women business owners through business centers across the country, the organization’s website said. The organization was founded in 1998 and supports entrepreneurial development for women to achieve economic self-sufficiency, the website said.

“The AWBC board of directors is now represented by WBCs in 12 states. This is unprecedented in the history of the AWBC and the collective knowledge of these WBC executives represents hundreds of years of experience in the industry,” Marsha Bailey, chair of the board, said in the release.

The Women’s Business Development Council was founded in 1997 and provides women with entrepreneurial and financial training throughout Connecticut.
