Look no more. Westchester's By The Way Bakery (BTW) with locations on the Upper East Side and Upper West Side of Manhattan, is coming to Greenwich as of November.
According to BTW owner Helene Godin, who started her humble shop in 2010 in Hastings-on-Hudson, N.Y., the plan is to be open the doors at 19 E. Putnam Ave. just before Thanksgiving.
After that, it's on to concentrating on her wholesale division. BTW 's mini cakes and cake slices are currently sold in a dozen Whole Foods.
BTW recently moved its kitchen to a new 7,000-plus-square-foot commissary in Pleasantville, N.Y., upping its capabilities by five times its original footprint. The state-of-the-.art space is also HACCP and SQF certified.
Those certifications ensure that both the wholesale and retail customers BTW bakes for are in accordance with the strictest food safety standards in the industry, said Godin.
In addition to being gluten- and dairy-free, all BTW goods are certified kosher.
Said Godin: "We want to make life a little sweeter for those who avoid gluten or dairy, are kosher, or just love high-quality baked goods."
