STAMFORD, Conn. -- Robert Hagan, vice president of M&T Bank’s business and professional banking in Connecticut, was appointed to the board of the Stamford Chamber of Commerce, M&T Bank recently announced.

Hagan works from M&T's commercial banking office in Norwalk and serves clients throughout Fairfield County. He lives in New Canaan.

Before joining M&T Bank in March, Hagan served as vice president of Newtek’s Small Business Authority. In this role, he came to understand and value the importance of supporting regional businesses through resources that help increase sales, reduce costs and minimize risks, according to M&T Bank.

“I look forward to using my background in both the banking and management areas of small business to further Stamford’s economic growth," said Hagan.

“We are very pleased to welcome Robert to the board,” said Jack Condlin, president and CEO of the Stamford Chamber of Commerce. “With over 15 years of experience in the small business and banking industries, Robert brings the necessary knowledge to take Stamford’s business community to new heights.”

As one of the largest business organizations in Southwestern Connecticut, the Stamford Chamber of Commerce represents more than 1,600 professional firms.
